The Book Fairy Was Here

...and she has delivered a juicy new title: Race and Liberty in the New Nation: Emancipation in Virginia from the Revolution to Nat Turner's Rebellion, by Eva Sheppard Wolf.  This book is right up our alley.  Also, its cover matches the blog nicely.

 I heard Ms. Wolf speak at the 2006 Virginia Forum in Winchester; she mentioned this upcoming book at the time and amazingly enough I had the presence of mind to note it down and actually follow through on ordering it.  I don't know if Ms. Wolf will be at the upcoming Virginia Forum in Richmond, but the book looks good.  Nice cover, too.
