Garden Explorers, Family Style
Our inaugural Garden Explorers Family Program on July 14 was a resounding success for a wonderful family of four from Indiana. We measured, sketched, and observed on a Veggie Quest through the vegetable garden.

We planted West Indian Gherkin seeds and Cushaw Squash seeds in two garden squares.

We watered our newly planted seeds so they could grow big and strong.

We harvested ripe cucumbers, tomatoes, and carrots for a healthy snack.

We had a blast exploring the vegetable garden together, learning about the usual plants Thomas Jefferson grew so many years ago in his amazing, experimental garden.

We hope our new friends enjoy planting a little bit of Virginia in their Indiana garden and come back again someday to spend time in Mr. Jefferson’s garden!
