Obama collects on Jefferson's promissory note

Joseph Ellis, Pulitzer Prize winning historian and author of American Sphinx: The Character of Thomas Jefferson, writes in Sunday's Washington Post that Barack Obama's history-making oath is rooted in the spirit of the Declaration of Independence.
Ellis writes: "If history is, as they say, an argument without end, the essential terms of our argument as people and a nation were framed in the founding era, and we are still living within that framework."
