Bill Barker: Being Thomas Jefferson

As part our exciting new speaker series T.O.M. Talks℠, enjoy a private reception atop Jefferson's Montalto and a conversation with Bill Barker, who has “been” Thomas Jefferson for almost 20 years. Barker, a history major and professional actor and director, will share his experiences portraying our third president at numerous venues throughout the United States and in Europe, including the White House and the Palace of Versailles.

Shadwell, Jefferson’s First Family Home at Shadwell Plantation

NOTE: The September 10 date for this event is sold out! As part of our exciting new speaker series TOM Talks℠, Monticello’s Research Archaeologist Derek Wheeler will lead this visit to the site of Thomas Jefferson’s birthplace, sharing details of the plantation during Jefferson’s childhood when Shadwell was the family home. Light snacks will be offered. Moderate outdoor walking is involved.
