About Me

I am the Shannon Senior Historian at the Robert H. Smith International Center for Jefferson Studies, a part of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation at Monticello. My essays and articles on Thomas Jefferson have been published in book-length compilations and journals. My current work focuses on Jefferson's creation of his public image. I have a MFA degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. in early American history from the University of Edinburgh.
