I love learning about this expedition--how exciting, trapsing into the unknown. I was amazed when I found out that Sacagawea was pregnant, gave birth to, and continued trekking on with her infant son! Huzzah!more »
So interesting...I also have to remind myself that upon her deathbed, Martha Jefferson made TJ promise her never to remarry--a practice that was common for widowers at the time, especially one as elligible at TJ. He obviously never did, but it is reasonable to think he would never form feelings...more »
How interesting! As a UVA alumna, I loved learning about Henry Martin. So many of the enslaved people of Monticello went on to lead fascinating lives. more »
