WILLIAM G. HYLAND JR. is aN Adjunct Professor of Law at Stetson University College of Law, and the author of the new book IN DEFENSE OF THOMAS JEFFERSON (St. Martins/Thomas Dunne Books, 2009), nominated for the Virginia Literary Award for 2010. His publications also include Law v. National Security: When Lawyers Make Terrorism Policy, University of Richmond Journal of Global Law and Business (Summer, 2008); Creative Malpractice: The Cinematic Lawyer, University of Texas Review of Entertainment and Sport Law, Vol. 9 (May, 2008); A Civil Action: Hemings v. Jefferson, American Journal of Trial Advocacy, Vol. 31. (December, 2007). He holds a B.A. from the University of Alabama and a J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. He is a trial lawyer and with over twenty-seven years of appellate and civil litigation experience. Before law school, Mr. Hyland worked with a Top Secret security clearance for the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency and served an internship at the Georgetown Center for Strategic and International Studies. Mr. Hyland is also a member of Mystery Writers of America and serves on the Board of Directors of the Thomas Jefferson Heritage Society;
