MONTICELLO MYSTERIES
Go behind the scenes at Monticello and uncover hidden stories from the past. Visit an archeological dig and find clues left by people long ago. Hang out with a curator and get a sneak peek at artifacts that rarely see the light of day. Follow historic recipes to recreate foods that once graced Jefferson’s table. Join in a scavenger hunt for signs of the past, as you explore Monticello upstairs and down, inside and out. Who knows what you’ll discover . . .
Ages: Rising 6th and 7th graders

MONTICELLO KIDS
Experience what it was like to be a kid at Monticello 200 years ago. Play games, sing songs, and run races on the West Lawn. Study your lessons and practice writing with a quill pen. Whether you were Mr. Jefferson’s grandchild or an enslaved child on the plantation, life was very different than it is today!
Ages: Rising 3rd graders

JEFFERSON EXPLORERS
Discover the genius of Jefferson as you explore his wide-ranging interests. Investigate Monticello’s many gadgets – then build your own! Catch the pioneering spirit of explorers Lewis and Clark, and try your hand at mapping and surveying. Visit a state-of-the-art kitchen from 200 years ago and then cool off with vanilla ice cream made using Jefferson’s recipe. Your imagination will soar with Mr. Jefferson’s ideas to inspire you.
