Peter Jefferson
Peter Jefferson (29 February 1707/08 - 17 August 1757) was Thomas Jefferson's father. He was born to Thomas Jefferson (c. 1677-1731) and Mary Field Jefferson (?-1715) at Osborne's, Henrico County, in 1707/08, the fourth of six children, and the third son.
Many have speculated on the origins of the Jefferson family, but to date no lineage past Peter Jefferson's paternal grandfather, also named Thomas Jefferson (c. 1697) has been definitively proven.
