Short-term fellowships and travel grants are underwritten by endowments established for this purpose by the Batten Foundation and Wachovia Corporation (formerly First Union National Bank of Virginia).
I am a published author of 10 books, mostly on genealogy. My last book. On the Banks of the Rappahannock, was a historical novel on colonial Virginia from 1699-1783, with an emphasis on Dr. Thomas Walker and his relationship with Thomas Jefferson. I am now writing a book on the life of Jefferson entitled: Thomas Jefferson - The Dream That Captured the West. I have now completed 200 pages and am working on his presidency (1st term). I will be in Charlottesville area the week of April 9th-14th and would like to do some research there and meet the staff. Please inform me of any grants or scholarships available to help me get this published.
