Join Kasia Stelmasiak, Assistant Professor, Institute of History, The Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, Branch in Piotrków Trybunalski (Poland), for a talk on her work on  Thomas Jefferson and Europe.

Kasia is currently working on a book about Thomas Jefferson and his relationship with Europe. The book will present the European world of Thomas Jefferson and will be based on selected accounts of his writings. She hopes to discover how Thomas Jefferson prepared for his European travels and how his Virginian background influenced these travels. The lecture will focus on motives, circumstances, and expectations and will examine how he transferred the European world to life at Monticello. Kasia's research examines aspects of culture, science, and ordinary life.
