Scouting Day 2015
Event At A Glance
Calling All Scouts!
Journey to Thomas Jefferson's iconic mountaintop home to earn a Monticello patch and enjoy our special tours and activity stations! Scouts and troop leaders are invited to take a private house tour and to explore Monticello's Griffin Discovery Room and exhibits including Crossroads, Making Monticello and To Try All Things. Scouts can test their skills at special activity stations designed to support learning about Jefferson and Science, Citizenship, and more. Drop-in activity stations will be open to participating scouts from 10AM - 3PM. On this day, Monticello patches (pictured at right) will be on sale at the Monticello gift shop for $2.50 for scouts in uniform (a $2.00 savings). Please register in advance to secure your timed house tour ticket.
Bring your own lunch to eat in the picnic area or purchase from the Monticello café. Please wear Girl Scout USA, Boy Scouts of America, or other scouting organization's uniform or identifier. Programming for Scouting Day is geared for scouts of all ages. Tickets are non-refundable. Pre-registration is strongly suggested. All minors must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.
Please note: When purchasing Scouting Day tickets, you will be asked to reserve your group’s timed house tour slot. You must arrive at Monticello at least 30 minutes prior to your selected House Tour time to avoid missing your reserved tour. A Scouting Day ticket will give you access to activity stations any time between 10AM and 3PM; feel free to drop in before or after your morning or afternoon tour.
