Richard Goodman, author of French Dirt: The Story of a Garden in the South of France and The Soul of Creative Writing will discuss the period when Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, John Adams, and Alexander Hamilton were all living in New York City. Goodman has written on a variety of subjects for many national publications, including the New York Times and Harvard Review, has taught writing in New York for many years, and was a founding member of the New York Writers Workshop. His new book, A New York Memoir, will be published in August 2010. Tea at 3:30 pm; the talk begins at 4:00 pm. At Monticello's Jefferson Library. The event is free, but space is limited.
