Guidelines
for Holiday Evening Tours
To ensure that this special opportunity is an enjoyable experience, we would like to share with you a few guidelines.
- Please arrive a half hour before your tour time, so the tour can begin promptly.
- When you arrive, please park in the Visitor Parking lot. Proceed to the Museum Shop of the Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center, which is scheduled to open in November 2008 (see .pdf of updated map). Your guide will meet you at the Museum Shop. The shuttle bus will transport you from there to the House for the tour. At the end of the tour, the shuttle bus will take you down to the parking lot.
- Please remember that because the Holiday Signature Tour includes a tour of the third floor of Monticello, it is not handicapped-accessible and is not recommended for individuals who may have difficultly climbing flights of stairs. This tour is not recommended for children under age 6.
- Also, for safety reasons, we ask that women do not wear high heels.
Reservations and tickets are valid only on the date specified. There will be no refunds unless the tour is canceled by the Thomas Jefferson Foundation.
