This rigorous, three-hour, five-mile hike through Monticello’s remote woodlands is a perennial favorite. Enjoy early spring botanical treasures and an intimate view of the wild Monticello, particularly the lovely plant communities along the Rivanna River. Prepare to walk the entire distance of this strenuous trek, and wear sturdy, waterproof shoes for muddy, steep, uphill slopes.

Starts at the David M. Rubenstein Visitor Center.

All dates are sold out for this year - please check back next spring for future walking tours.
