After many years of friendship, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe became neighbors when Monroe purchased the Highland property near Monticello in 1793. The two men shared many life experiences - they both studied at William & Mary, were governors of Virginia, and served as Presidents of the United States, the 3rd and 5th respectively. Join us for a Q&A with first person historical interpreters Bill Barker as Thomas Jefferson and Dennis Bigelow as James Monroe. These two former presidents will reminisce about their past together and reflect on the impact their policies had on the United States.
