Highlights Tour
This guided tour provides an overview of Monticello’s architecture, landscape, and people through an inside/outside exploration of the house and mountaintop. Guides discuss topics of Thomas Jefferson's life, the ideals of freedom, and the realities of slavery.
Meet Thomas Jefferson
Guests can meet Thomas Jefferson (as portrayed by historic actor-interpreter Bill Barker) Tuesday through Saturday during regularly scheduled hours. Barker brings a deep and nuanced portrayal of the man who wrote "all men are created equal."
Farm Table Cafe
Our chef prepares seasonal menus including soups, salads, and sandwiches made with Monticello-grown vegetables and locally sourced meats, cheeses, and bread. Located at the Monticello Visitor Center; no ticket purchase required.
