From the airport/29S:
- Follow Airport Road to stoplight. Turn right onto Route 29. Follow Route 29 into Charlottesville for about 6 miles.
- Follow signs to the Route 29 South/250 West Bypass and take that exit (on the right immediately past the Best Buy).
- Continue on 29S/250 West Bypass for about 4 miles.
- Merge onto I64 East. Continue for 3.5 miles and take exit 121 Charlottesville/Scottsville. At the end of the exit ramp, take a left onto Route 20 South.
- At the second stoplight, turn left onto Route 53 (Thomas Jefferson Parkway). Continue up the mountain on Route 53, passing the entrance to Monticello on the right.
- When you pass the entrance to Monticello on Route 53, look for a driveway about .2 miles further up route 53.
- Just before the white gated entrance to Kenwood, there is a driveway on the right with a white private property sign. Turn down this driveway.
- You will see a white house (Curatorial Dept.) and several small storage buildings nearby. Keeping going to the end of the driveway, and the Marquis Cottage will be on the right.
From I64:
- Take exit 121 to Charlottesville/Scottsville
- At the end of the exit ramp, turn onto Route 20 South.
- Go about .6 miles and, at the second stoplight, take a left onto Route 53 (Thomas Jefferson Parkway). Continue up the mountain on Route 53, passing the entrance to Monticello on the right.
- Just before the white gated entrance to Kenwood, there is a driveway on the right with a white private property sign. Turn down this driveway.
