I'm a history buff with a great interest in slave owners and what made them tick ... especially since I am a direct descendent of one of the first to arrive on American soil. I am adamantly opposed to slavery in all it's forms and both fascinated by and appalled at the institution.
I find it most interesting that there are so many varied and opposing views of the same man. It would be nice to know which of the many historical accounts of his life are most accurate. Does anyone know?
