Archaeology Teacher Workshop

Meets at the David M. Rubenstein Visitor Center
Tuesday, July 18, 2017 - 8:00am to 5:00pm

Professional educators are invited to join Monticello Archaeologists for a one-day workshop on July 18th or July 19th from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. In the morning, participants will engage in archaeological field excavations at an early-19th-century slave quarter. The afternoon will include artifact processing in the archaeology lab as well as discussions of archaeological analysis and classroom applications of archaeological methods and data. Participants will receive a certificate of completion, a resource packet, refreshments, and one-day access to the Grounds. Space is limited to 12 participants per day, so reserve your spot today!

This program is designed for professional educators, ages 18 and older. For children and family programs occurring this summer, visit our Online Calendar and search for "Archaeology" as Event Type. For questions, contact Beth Sawyer: esawyer@monticello.org.
