Toddlers and their adult companions are invited to a delightful introduction to the world of Thomas Jefferson through interactive stories, engaging activities, crafts and free play.
Held in the Griffin Discovery Room at the Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center. 9:00 to 9:15 is reserved for free play and exploration, with activities from 9:15 to 10:00 am.
Specially designed for children ages 18 months - 4 years and their adult caregivers. Advance registration required. Offered on third Saturdays.
- October 21: Fascinating Fossils – Hunt for fossils, make your own hand-print “fossil,” and enjoy a (not too) scary story about the prehistoric mastodon bones in Monticello’s Hall
November 18: Dynamic Dance - Make your own rhythm instrument, dance to one of Jefferson’s favorite songs, and enjoy the story of Thomas and Martha Jefferson falling in love over music.
December 16: Amazing Art - Create a self-portrait with yarn, glue and felt, match shapes and colors on a Monticello garden scene, and enjoy a story about Jefferson’s granddaughter Cornelia, the family artist.
