- Since 1995, the International Center has hosted over 120 scholars from around the world through a program of residential fellowships and travel grants. More »

- A major component of the International Center's scholarly activity is focused on conferences, symposia, and seminars, held at Kenwood and elsewhere. In addition to considering Thomas Jefferson in his historical setting, the Center is developing an international program related to contemporary issues that correspond with Jefferson's interests and legacy. - The International Center runs a number of long established and highly successful courses for teachers and the public with the University of Virginia, the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, and the Robert E. Lee Memorial Association. More »

- Research at the International Center is driven by a commitment to multidisciplinary exploration of all facets of Jefferson's public and private life and legacy. - Throughout the year, the International Center hosts lectures given by its fellows as well as other distinguished scholars of Jefferson's life, times, and legacy. More »
- Tea Time Talks Series
- The International Center hosts this informal lecture series on topics of interest both to the Thomas Jefferson Foundation and the wider community, ranging from discussions on ongoing research within and outside of the International Center to presentations on uses of information technology in Jefferson scholarship and the impact of tourist development on the region.
- Internships
- Interns make important contributions to expanding the scope and depth of research at the International Center and its Jefferson Library. In addition to the ICJS internships, opportunities also exist in the areas of Administration, Development, Horticulture, and a Intern and Volunteer Program at the Jefferson Library.
