Due to inclement weather, the Jefferson’s Birthday and Founder’s Day Celebration at Monticello on Friday, April 12 at 10am will be relocated to the Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center.
Monticello will mark the 270th anniversary of Thomas Jefferson's birth with ceremonies on the grounds. Wendy Kopp, founder of Teach For America, is the recipient of the 2013 Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medal in Citizen Leadership and will speak at a special ceremony on the West Lawn at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 (the day before Jefferson's birthday).
