Residents of Charlottesville and Albemarle County
Under Monticello’s “Good Neighbor” policy, residents of the city of Charlottesville and Albemarle County and University of Virginia students receive discounted rates for House Tour and Grounds Tickets with proper proof of residence, such as a valid driver's license, or current UVa ID.

Adults: $10 each, or free when accompanying a non-resident adult guest paying full price.
Children under 12: free
How to Purchase Tickets at the Local Resident Rate
Online, Advance Reservations
If you would like to schedule a time to take a House Tour or a Montalto Tour, you can make a reservation using our online ticket service. Upon checkout, you will be charged the full adult or child rate (plus a per-ticket service fee). To receive the discounted "Good Neighbor" rate, you must bring proper proof of residence (see above) to the Monticello Ticket Office along with your receipt or the credit card you used to purchase the tickets. The Ticket Office will then credit the balance of the purchase price to your credit card.
Walk-ups
Each day, Monticello will have a certain number of House Tour and Grounds Tickets spaces available for walk-up purchases. To receive the discounted area resident rate, please bring proper proof of residence (see above) to the Monticello Ticket Office at the time of your visit.
