North Pavilion
The North Pavilion is part of the original design for Monticello and served as an office for Jefferson's son-in-law, Thomas Mann Randolph.
Thomas Mann Randolph, husband of Jefferson’s eldest daughter Martha, used the upper floor of the North Pavilion as an office. Randolph's political career included service as a U.S. Congressman, Virginia State Senator and Delegate, and Governor of Virginia. He died in the North Pavilion in 1828 and is buried in the Monticello Graveyard.
