Ted Gioia

Ted Gioia is a writer, critic, and nonprofit arts leader in San Francisco. Ted works as the Program & Development Director at Arion Press, where he leads Arion’s events, community arts initiatives, fundraising, the King Artist Residency, and co-founded the Arion Literary Dinner with Stanlee Gatti. 

As a widely published critic, his essays have appeared in The New Republic, New York, Tablet, and Los Angeles Review of Books. His first work of fiction “The Token of Dorian Gray” was released as a fine-press edition by First Bite Press in 2026. He is currently finishing his first novel. Ted is a member of the Grolier Club, Vita Brevis, a fellow at The Institute, and serves on the advisory councils of several Bay Area cultural organizations.
