Holiday Evening Tours

Late December

  • All guests $99

This tour is a rare opportunity to experience Monticello after dark, decorated with the style of holiday greenery found during Jefferson’s era. A premiere 90-minute experience, this tour will explore all 3-floors of Monticello, including the dome room.

It offers an intimate look at how all people who lived on the Monticello mountaintop – enslaved and free – celebrated the holidays.

Dates: December 18-23; 26-27 at 5:15pm, 5:30pm, 5:45pm, 6:00pm, and 6:15pm

Note, stairs are required to reach the second and third floors of the house. Everyone on the tour, regardless of age, must be able to climb and descend stairs unassisted. If you're unable to explore the upper floors, you can spend extra time with our staff in Jefferson's Hall until your group rejoins you.

A plate of Christmas cookies, including a frosted Christmas tree, stocking, star, and gingerbread man, sit on a white plate on a table next to holiday greenery, a wine bottle, and a glass of red wine.

You'll have access to:

-Free Parking-The Shop at Monticello
-Free Wifi and Monticello Mobile Guide-The Farm Shop on the Mountaintop
-Mountaintop Gardens and Grounds-The Monticello Café
