You’ll learn about Jefferson and his vision for America, the realities of slavery on the Monticello plantation, and the mountaintop’s iconic architecture. This popular tour includes access to our gardens and grounds walking tour, family-friendly activities, and exhibits.
The Highlights Tour can sell out quickly - booking your tickets online, in advance is recommended.
Guests should plan to arrive at the visitor center 30 minutes prior to their tour start time to allow time to pass through a security screening and travel from the visitor center to the mountaintop.
