About the Book Club Discussion Series

Session Dates: July 15, July 29, and August 12

Designed to spark thoughtful conversation, Declaration Book Club brings together short readings, historical context, and discussion prompts that invite readers to explore the meaning of America’s founding document, then and now.

Through engaging conversations led by Monticello educators and scholars, participants will examine the Declaration through a new lens and kindle discussion of our past, present, and future as one people, created equal. What did Jefferson and his co-signers declare in 1776—and how do you pursue life, liberty, and happiness today?

Tickets include a copy of the printed Declaration Book Club companion book, which guests can pick up from the Monticello Ticket Office ahead of the first session.

Food and beverage, including award-winning Jefferson Vineyards wine, will be available for purchase.
