Corporate Retreats

Monticello’s venues offer a unique and inspiring setting for corporate retreats and meetings, blending history, the power of place, and world-class facilities to foster creativity, collaboration, and leadership development. Retreat participants have the opportunity to engage with our nation’s rich history through tours, talks, and other curated experiences that explore the visions and ideals of our founding.

Hosting a retreat at Monticello places your team at the heart of American history, fostering inspiration and engagement from Thomas Jefferson's legacy and visionary thinking on education, civic engagement, and leadership. Nestled on 2,500 acres of beautiful landscape, our venues offer quiet respite to connect and align, but remain easily accessible from Richmond, Washington, D.C. and New York.

Enhancements to Experience:

  • Remarks by a Monticello expert or scholar, tailored to a variety of interests, including: architecture, culinary diplomacy, decorative arts, politics, science, slavery and freedom, wine, and more.
  • Intimate tours of special collections and objects
  • Private and after-hours tours of the Monticello home
  • Visits by Thomas Jefferson, interpreted by Bill Barker
  • Jeffersonian Feast of Reason Dinners

As a Site of Conscience, we are committed to engaging our guests with a deeper understanding of Monticello’s history as a plantation. Out of respect for the enslaved men, women, and children who lived and labored here, we do not allow private, non-educational events on the West Lawn, Mulberry Row, or elsewhere on the mountaintop.
