About the Passport

In 2026, the United States marks its 250th anniversary. This historic milestone--extraordinary in our lifetimes--provides the ideal moment to come together, better understand our shared past, and renew our commitment to the pursuit of "a more perfect union."

We invite you to explore the outsized role Virginians played in securing American independence, and our journey since, by visiting the many museums and historic sites of this Commonwealth. The Virginia 250 Passport features dozens of museums and historic sites across the Commonwealth.
