Saturday Archaeology Workshop
Archaeology of the Monticello Plantation Landscape
Monticello archaeologists lead a walking tour of the plantation landscape and a discussion of how archaeological discoveries are revolutionizing our understanding of changes slave life ways and agricultural ecology during Jefferson’s lifetime. This is a three-mile walk in the woods, some of it over rough terrain: water bottles, sturdy shoes, and long trousers are highly recommended.
Don't forget to check out our free Archaeology Walks to Site 6, offered at 11 a.m., Monday-Friday, June 4-July 12, 2013!
