Highlights Tour This guided tour provides an overview of Monticello’s architecture, landscape, and people through an inside/outside exploration of the house, the plantation, and the ideals of freedom and the realities of slavery.
Behind the Scenes Tours This exclusive pass takes you through the first floor of Monticello and up the narrow staircase to explore the quarters on the second and third floors, including the iconic Dome Room.

Meet Thomas Jefferson

Guests can meet Thomas Jefferson (as portrayed by veteran historical actor-interpreter Bill Barker) in person, Tuesday through Saturday during regularly scheduled hours. Widely recognized as the foremost interpreter of our nation's third President, Barker brings a deep and nuanced portrayal of the man who wrote "all men are created equal" and who helped found the United States of America.
