Do you want to visit Monticello but are unable to get here in person? Now you can get a guided tour of Monticello from wherever you are with our new Live Virtual Tours!

Live Virtual Tours

On your hour-long virtual tour, a Monticello guide will lead you in real-time through the first floor of Thomas Jefferson’s mountaintop home. You will get a private, unobstructed view of the house and collections and discuss important issues such as Thomas Jefferson’s role as a nation builder and Monticello as a plantation powered by the labor of enslaved African Americans.

Live Virtual Tours for Families

From giant Mastodon bones to hidden beds and revolving doors, kids find Monticello fascinating. History will come alive as you hear inspiring stories of our nation’s founding and of the people, both free and enslaved, who lived on this working plantation. Recommended for families with children ages 5 and up.

Both tours use Zoom** to connect visitors from across the globe. During the tour, you can ask your Monticello guide questions, which will be answered in real-time, making for an interactive and unique experience.
