Charlottesville is served by bus, train, and air, but there is no scheduled public transportation serving Monticello. Taxi service is available from local companies.

Parking
Visitor parking at Monticello is free. There are spaces for buses, RVs, and trailers. Handicapped parking spaces are located directly across from the Ticket Office/Shuttle Station (handicapped license plate or tag required). Visitors are advised to lock their vehicles. Monticello is not responsible for loss or damage incurred in the parking area. Overnight parking is prohibited.
Restrooms are located at the Ticket Office/Shuttle Station, under the South Terrace, and below the mountaintop Museum Shop.
