Archaeology Walking Tours: Hidden in Plain Site

Join Archaeologists on a 50-minute walking tour of rarely seen parts of the plantation and learn how archaeology informs our understanding of the lives of those who lived and worked at Monticello. The tour, entitled Hidden in Plain Site: Archaeology at Jefferson's Plantation, will visit the Monticello-University of Virginia Archaeology Field School's ongoing excavation of an early-nineteenth-century domestic site that was once home to enslaved agricultural laborers. FREE, no reservations needed. Tours will start at 1:30pm and meet at the Plantation Model near the Cafe.
