If your school or group has to cancel a visit to Monticello, we now offer the opportunity to bring your group to Monticello virtually! Sign up now to get a tour of Monticello from wherever you are with our new guided virtual tours.

On your hour-long virtual tour, a Monticello guide will lead your group in real-time through the first floor of Thomas Jefferson’s mountaintop home. Your group will get a private, unobstructed view of the house and collections and discuss important issues such as Thomas Jefferson’s role as a nation builder and Monticello as a plantation powered by the labor of enslaved African Americans.

This robust and innovative digital program uses Zoom to connect to groups from across the globe. Using the chat function in Zoom, your group can ask questions of the Monticello guide which will be answered in real-time, making for an interactive and unique experience.

Please note: to participate in this tour, a computer or mobile device with audio capabilities and a reliable internet connection is necessary. If your group needs technical support with their connection, they should consult the Zoom help center. Monticello guides are unable to answer technical support questions during the guided virtual tour.

*For classrooms up to 35 students.
